I have never been more nervous in my life. For I am about to enter the doors of the Supreme Court. I know we will lose, there's just a feeling I have that this case can never be won. I wish I could've done more. But, I must stay positive. I just don't want it to be unanimous. That is my one and only goal.

We are in recess now. I had underestimated the racism of the judge. Ferguson is his name, and though I am an accomplished writer and lawyer he still strikes fear in my veins.
The case is over, the awful racist has decided that when the train is going through multiple states there can be no segregation, but when the train is within the state it is allowed. But we are not giving up, we will take to the Supreme Court if we have to. Then maybe I will get to see Harlan in flesh and blood. How exciting!Ta ta,

I am sitting at home at the moment. Paper beneath me, trying to create the next Harlan dissent. What a great man... So far I have found that the Act violates the fourteenth amendment. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
I believe that because this is a law, made by the government, and is denying all colored people the right to integration, is in violation of the fourteenth amendment. And if I stretch it I think I can prove to them that it is violation of the thirteenth as well. It's a form of slavery, of denying them their unalienable rights, they have to accept that. They have to, right?
Now that I have agreed to the case, we must create it. I have chosen Homer Adolph Plessy. He is of Haitian decent, but that was his great-grandparent. He is seven eighths white and somehow he has to ride in the colored car. The nerve of those Whites! He looks white, he is white. That's the reason we chose him really, to further show how wrong they are. Anyway, he seems like a fine candidate.
Today I was offered $1412 by The Citizen's Committee to Test The Separate Car Act. The things I could do with that money... But, I cannot accept. It would be unjust and wrong. They're a mixed group, white and black who are determined to see the Separate Car Act disbanded. I told them I would do it pro bono, and you could see the relief on their faces, the money was hard to get. I am glad to know that they are going to be financially safe.
